Trainee Technical Marketing Engineer x2
Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Technical Marketing Engineer to support our sales and marketing activities through strong technical understanding of electronic products and solutions. This office based, entry-level role is ideal for a recent school or college leaver, who wants to develop a career at the intersection of electronics engineering, sales, and marketing.
You will receive structured training while working closely with engineering, sales, and product teams to help promote, position, and support our electronic products in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Marketing Support
- Learn and understand the company’s supplier base, electronic products, technologies, and applications
- Support the preparation of technical marketing materials (newsletter content, datasheets, presentations, application notes)
- Assist in demonstrating products to field application engineers, sales teams and customers
- Provide basic pre-sales technical support under supervision
Market & Customer Engagement
- Help analyse customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions
- Support market research activities, including supplier evaluations and competitor analysis
- Assist with customer technical enquiries
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions and customer visits supporting the sales and marketing teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams
- Support internal training sessions for sales teams on product market positioning and applications
Training & Development
- Supported 2 year day release college courses HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering for England (HTQ) level 4 and an opportunity to complete HND Engineering level 5
- Training programme to achieve level 5 HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is expected to take a minimum of 4 years, commitment and dedication would be required
- Structured onboarding and product training within the office and college setting
- Mentoring from experienced technical marketing engineers, technical analysts, sales and applications engineers
- Opportunity to progress into roles such as Technical Engineer or Technical Marketing Analyst is a long-term possibility for the right candidate
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- 5 GCSE grades C/4 or above, including English, Maths and Science
- Basic understanding and a genuine interest in electronics (analogue, digital, or embedded systems)
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and develop commercial and customer-facing skills
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
Desirable
- Knowledge of electronic components, systems, or test equipment
- Interest in marketing, sales, or product management
- Experience with presentations, technical writing, or customer interaction
- Awareness of market analysis
