DF51K series from HIROSE delivers a compact 2mm pitch robust Wire-to-Board connector system, samples available from Anglia
The DF51K connectors feature a centre lock design that allows the connectors to be placed side-by-side for high density mounting, this helps to save valuable space on the PCB.

Low ESR SMD capacitor series launched by Panasonic

Low ESR SMD capacitor series launched by Panasonic

Panasonic has released the FP-Series, a new range of surface mounting aluminium electrolytic capacitors with significantly lower ESR characteristics, offering a serious and cost effective alternative to tantalum capacitors.

The FP-Series provides an ESR up to 50% lower than the successful FK-Series with a minimum of 60mOhm at 100kHz for the G case size.

The Series covers working voltages from 6.3V to 50V and is available in case sizes B to G. Capacitance values extend from 10uF up to 1800uF with 50V, for example, offering values up to 220uF. Guaranteed lifetime is 2000 hours at +105degC.

An advantage of the FP-Series is that there is no voltage de-rating necessary and therefore the capacitors can be used at the rated working voltage. Furthermore, in a case of a short circuit they go high-resistance, which minimises damage to the PCB and the risk of fire.

With the improved ESR and CV values as well as the cost benefits, the FP-Series is now a real competitor to tantalum capacitors.

Designed for high temperature, lead-free reflow soldering, the FP-Series are ideal for switching power supplies in industrial electronics and automotive applications.
