EPCOS Inductors: miniaturized high-current version

With its new high-current version, the SIMID 1210-H, EPCOS has made a significant step forward in the miniaturization of SMT inductors. The SIMID 1210-H features a volume reduction of 60 percent, while covering the electrical specifications of standard versions in the 1812 size.
The new SIMID series offers an inductance range from 1 to 680 μH and a current handling capability of up to 1.15 A. The use of a special laser welding technique for the connection between the winding lead and the contact terminal creates a temperature-resistant connection that allows long-term use at ambient temperatures of up to 150 °C.

The complete encapsulation with LCP (liquid crystal polymer) also assures high mechanical stability that make these inductors, which are manufactured fully automatically, ideal not only for telecommunications, consumer and industrial electronics applications, but especially for use in the automotive sector. These AEC-Q200 qualified components are not only RoHS-compatible but also satisfy the demanding requirement for a lead-free solder profile to the JEDEC J-STD 020C standard. Sample kits of the SIMID 1210-H series are available for customer design-in support.
