HIROSE, a world-class manufacturer of innovative connector solutions, has launched the BM50 series of 0.35mm pitch, 0.6mm stacking height connectors for FPC to board connections. This innovative connector system was selected as a CES Innovation Awards Honouree in 2022.
The BM50 series is a Plug and Receptacle connector system, with a space-saving design. The connectors are designed to handle signal and power, they have 4 signal contacts rated at 0.3A per position, and 2 power contacts rated at 15A per position providing designers with an extremely compact and high-power connection system. The connectors feature high contact reliability due to their multi-point contact design, which includes 4-point power contacts, and 2-point signal contacts, for a stable connection.
Multi-point contact design for high reliability
Featuring a contact pitch of 0.35mm, the BM50 series have a novel lock design which ensures a high retention force once mated reducing the risk of accidental un-mating due to impact or other shock events. These Surface Mount Power/Signal Hybrid FPC-to-Board Connectors have an extremely low-profile stacking height of just 0.6mm and are constructed from high quality halogen free LCP material rated to UL94V-0 for flammability, contacts are constructed from copper alloy material with gold plating for low contact resistance and high reliability. The connectors are rated for 10 mating/un-mating cycles and have an operating temperature range of -55℃ to +85℃.
The innovative space saving design of the BM50 series allows these connectors to handle up to 50% more current than comparable sized solutions currently available in the market.
