HIROSE, a world-class manufacturer in connectors, has introduced the FH26W series of Flat Printed Circuit (FPC) connectors. These space saving connectors are designed to meet the requirements of miniaturised and portable electronic devices.
The light weight FH26W series is designed for use with 0.3mm pitch FPC and features double-sided contacts, the connectors have a 0.6mm PCB pin pitch for easy mounting. The depth of the connector is only 3.2mm to save PCB space and has an extremely low profile of just 1.0mm allowing it to be used in applications where height is limited.
Space saving design
The bottom side of the FH26W connector includes a fully covered moulded design which allows for mounting over conductive tracks with zero exposure of the contacts whilst providing more board area. Leadless tabs are included under this connector allowing more mounting space on the board.
The FH26W series have a wide 135° opening of the actuator which allows easy insertion of the FPC into the connector. The actuator operation is very user-friendly with a clear tactile and audible click which helps prevent incomplete locking and confirms secure engagement. Furthermore, each contact tip provides additional support to the actuator by hooking on to the actuator from above to ensure a stable connection even for high pin counts. The FH26W connectors also have retention tabs which function as FPC insertion guides to prevent angled insertion and damage to the locking mechanism.
The FH26W series connectors are constructed from UL rated flame retardant material with gold over nickel plated phosphor bronze contacts providing good reliability and durability.
The FH26W series is suited to a wide range of applications including Display Systems, Medical, Industrial, Test & Measurement, Instrumentation, Wearables and other small portable devices.
