New franchise sees Anglia in drive to further develop the industrial market for Hitachi Displays Group

Anglia, the UK’s largest privately owned electronic component distributor, has been appointed by Hitachi Display Group to market its range of industrial LCDs in the UK.

The agreement is designed to help Hitachi achieve greater penetration into the industrial market as its European sales manager, Steve Dyson explains, “Displays are one of the fastest growing areas for the UK components industry and they are appearing in an ever-more diverse range of industrial applications. Anglia has a particularly strong industrial customer base and we see a great opportunity for them to achieve long-term growth in this market with our products.”

Hitachi’s monochrome and colour graphic LCDs range from 2.6” to 10.4”. Features include wide temperature range operation, long life cold fluorescent light (CFL) and high brightness white LED backlights, touch panel options, low power consumption and industry leading quality. Hitachi’s 5.7” QVGA line up offers mechanical compatibility throughout the monochrome STN, colour STN and TFT offerings, providing maximum flexibility for customers.

Anglia’s marketing director, Lee Nye, confirms his company’s commitment to the product line, “We already have a dedicated business manager for displays and are adding a full-time FAE to support the Hitachi line, plus additional internal sales resources. The products are complementary to our existing display technologies and will improve our ability to deliver the optimum display solution for each application. We’re seeing increasing demand for LCD products, and it’s a privilege to be able to add a renowned brand like Hitachi to our customer offering.”
