Anglia announces the first recipients of its new charity program

Wisbech, Wednesday, 04 April 2018 Anglia Components has streamlined its charitable activities to give focus on two chosen local charities each year. The Cambridgeshire based electronic component distributor’s new charity program will ensure that the company’s fundraising activities are better targeted to charities chosen through suggestions from Anglia employees and reviewed by the board. Each year two local charities will be chosen to be the recipients of Anglia’s charity donations.

Speaking about the new initiative, Steve Rawlins, CEO commented “It’s always been important for Anglia to give something back to the local community and we have donated to various charities throughout the years.” He continued, “However, our program to date has been fairly ad hoc with many requests from various charities and this has lead us to rethink and streamline our charity program. It makes much more sense to have nominated charities each year to which we can dedicate all our fundraising endeavours.”

The first appointed beneficiaries of the new Anglia components charity scheme are Alzheimer’s and Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre, based in Wisbech. Each charity will each receive nearly £4000 donated directly from Anglia and raised by staff through charitable events such as a Christmas party raffle.
