Taicom’s latest Screwless Terminal Blocks offer a quick connect solution

Taicom's recently expanded range of screwless terminal blocks now provides a much wider selection of products covering a variety of styles and pitches, thus enhancing the versatility of the range even further. |
These quick connect, screwless terminal blocks, which have been primarily designed to reduce assembly time in the end application, are now available in top, side and diagonal (45º) wire entry styles and are offered in a wide variety of industry standard pin pitches of 3.5mm, 5mm, 7.5mm and 10mm.
Manufactured using a spring leg mechanism to secure the wire, the blocks are particularly useful in situations where assembly speed is of paramount importance. However, they have the additional benefit of giving the wire terminations greater resistance to vibration compared to traditional screw type terminal blocks.
The Taicom range features a finger operated plunger system to enable the user to insert or release the wire. A further option is available on the side entry types, where a slot has been provided for inserting a screwdriver to activate the mechanism. This option is useful in applications where removal of the wire is anticipated to be less frequent or where a level of anti-tamper is required. Both systems allow quick and reliable assembly.
Applications cover the same areas as traditional screw type terminal blocks and include primary lighting, ballasts, emergency lighting, process instrumentation, control systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), test & measurement, I/O modules and industrial control, as well as many others.
Current and voltage ratings for the screwless terminal blocks range from 5A/350Vac up to 15A/300Vac depending on pitch chosen. Primarily designed for solid wires the wire acceptance size extends from 0.3mm2 up to 2.5mm2 again depending on the model chosen.
The blocks are offered in 2 to 12 ways throughout and utilise a modular stackable construction so that a larger number of ways can be assembled to customer’s specific request.
As with all Taicom connectors the screwless terminal blocks utilise the highest quality materials and the latest production techniques in their manufacture. Insulators are moulded from polyamide material, which is flame retardant to UL94V-0 and has a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C.
