Taicom's range of RJ style connectors offers a comprehensive choice of product from cable mount plugs to PCB mount sockets. Consisting of 16 different plugs and 17 different sockets, the range is FCC-68 compatible and constructed from high quality materials with gold plated contacts and flame retardant insulators to UL94V-2. |
Commonly found in Telecom equipment, such as telephones and modems, the RJ style connector is also used widely in network equipment. Most of today’s computer networks based on 10/100 base T Ethernet use this type of connector, however the connectors have also found wider uses in applications such as automotive, medical systems and remotely programmed electronic equipment. Much of the RJ style connectors popularity is due to its compact size, high data rate capability and low cost. The Taicom series meets all these criteria whilst maintaining high quality standards.
The plugs range from 4 way through to 10 way with a wide choice of contact configurations, including the very commonly used RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 connectors. The plugs are available in 2 versions for use with flat or round cable depending on individual requirement. The popular 8 way 8 pin (RJ45) and the 10 way 10 pin plugs are also available in a shielded version for applications requiring high data rates or where susceptibility to noise from nearby sources needs to be controlled.
The FCC-68 compatible PCB sockets are available in three styles, vertical, horizontal and horizontal shielded. The vertical sockets are available in 4 to 10 ways with different pin configurations loaded. The right angle versions are available in low profile (black body) 6 to 10 way for applications with space restraints or standard profile body (grey) in 4 to 6 way. The fully shielded version completes the range in 6, 8 and 10 way, again suitable for applications where data speed is paramount or noise is a problem.
