Taicom 1.27mm pitch IDC wire-to-board connectors provide simple, reliable and fast assembly
The Taicom Txx1271 series of IDC connectors provides a fast reliable and effective plug and header wire-to-board connector solution with the added option of being able to terminate wires directly to the PCB using the transition connectors available within the series.
These versatile industry compatible connectors are available on the popular 1.27mm pitch and are designed for use with UL recognised style 2651 ribbon cable, also available from Taicom see TFCxxG series, the connectors use the tried and tested insulation displacement contact (IDC) termination method which allows for fast assembly and reliable contact mating.
The connectors are available in through hole or surface mount PCB headers, the TMH1271H PCB through-hole headers are available in straight and right-angled options and have a staggered footprint for easier track routing on PCB layouts. The straight PCB headers are also available in surface mount (SMD) making them compatible with fully automated production processes and are be supplied in either tubed or taped and reel packaging format for maximum flexibility. The SMD taped and reeled headers have a pick and place cap fitted on the component to allow for fully automated PCB population using pick and place machines.
The TID1271R IDC housings (plugs) are designed to be directly terminated onto the ribbon cable and accept style 2651 ribbon cable with wire size of 26–28awg, once fitted to the ribbon cable they are mated with the through hole and SMD mounted PCB headers, the plug and header system is suitable for field installation and allows for users to repair or service equipment at a later date if required. The TID1271C range of transition connectors are designed to be soldered directly onto the PCB first and then the ribbon cable can be terminated to them, this method means you need just one connector instead of a header and plug to terminate the wires to the PCB saving on cost.
The Taicom Txx1271 series connectors are available from 2 through to 26 positions with a voltage rating of 250V and current rating of 1A. The PCB headers (TID1271R) and transition connectors (TID1271C) have an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C, the wire mounted plugs (TMH1271H) have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C
The entire Txx1271 series is manufactured using high quality PBT material which is flame retardant to UL94V-0 making the connectors ideal for applications where end equipment may require third party safety approvals.
