MEMS Air Flow Sensor from OMRON feature unique Dust Segregation System enabling optimum sensing performance, samples available from Anglia

The D6F-V03A1 velocity flow sensor from OMRON incorporates a unique Dust Segregation System that helps maintain sensing performance in variety of applications including building automation. The sensor has a specially designed three-dimensional flow path structure which prevents dust build up, this allows the sensor to maintain a high-performance flow rate measurement.

The D6F-V03A1 sensor is designed for measuring air velocity and has a flow range of 0 to 3 m/s, supply voltage is 3.3 VDC with low current consumption of only 15mA max. The sensor has a non-linear amplified output voltage which increases in proportion to the airflow from 0 VDC to 2.0 VDC (2.7 VDC max.) with a load resistance of 10 k Ohms. Accuracy is ±10%F.S. with a high repeatable accuracy of ±1.5%F.S. Reference (Typical) over full scale measurement at 25°C.

Air velocity vs. sensor output voltage

Due to the utilisation of MEMS technology the sensor is also very compact measuring just 24 x 14 x 8mm and can operate in temperatures from -10°C to +60°C and relative humidity in the range 35% to 85% (non-condensing or icing).

The D6F-V03A1 sensor can be used in a wide range of applications including Building automation, Security, HVAC, Air source heat pumps, Scientific & Laboratory equipment, Instrumentation, Healthcare devices and Medical equipment. Building regulations now require suitable ventilation to be installed into buildings to maintain indoor air quality, the D6F-V03A1 MEMS sensor can easily be incorporated into ventilation systems to aid compliance with regulations.
