Hitachi launches 6.2-inch LCD module with super-wide viewing angle and high brightness
Using Hitachi’s wide viewing angle polariser, the new module offers customers a more versatile display with improved optical performance. Better optical characteristics mean that the TX16D11VM2CBA can be used in a wide range of applications including industrial test and measurement devices, medical devices, epos and other handheld mobile devices. The TX16D11VM2CBA offers a horizontal viewing angle of 140 degrees and a vertical viewing angle of 130 degrees. “The widened viewing cone of the TX16D11VM2CBA affords much greater flexibility to both product design engineers and end-users. It allows handheld devices to be used in a greater variety of environments and makes the sharing of on-screen information much easier for the user. The landscape format of the module means that bespoke applications can use a split screen configuration for clearer and more convenient presentation of information and data. The high resolution and excellent colour performance of the module also makes it ideal for use in devices that require icon-driven user interfaces such as Windows CE®,” comments Mark Dalton, Product Marketing Engineer for Hitachi Display Products Group. The active matrix TFT module produces clear, sharp images and graphics and operates in a transmissive mode, with a colour palette of 262,000 colours. The module uses a long life CFL backlight with a half-brightness lifetime of 50,000 hours. Its dimensions are 170mm(W) x 70mm(H) x 8.6mm(D) and it weighs just 140 grams.
