Ultra-low-power accelerometer from STMicroelectronics features embedded FIFO

The LIS3DH 3-axis accelerometer merges the advantage of enhanced embedded features, such as sleep-to-wakeup and return-to-sleep functions, with a significant reduction in power consumption - 90% lower than available solutions on the market.

The device contains a temperature sensor, three analog-to-digital converter channels, a programmable FIFO memory block and two programmable interrupt signals.

The LIS3DH is the first device of a new family of accelerometers, featuring extremely low power consumption (up to 2 µA) and smart features such as sleep-to-wakeup and return-to-sleep functions. It offers full scales of ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g dynamically selectable by the user. Compared to previous accelerometers, the LIS3DH includes a 32-level FIFO buffer, a temperature sensor and an analog-to-digital converter.
