Cinterion releases MC55i Rel.1.2 A2 wireless module

The new Rel.1.2 A2 extends the very successful market launch of the M2M Value product MC55i. The embedded TCP/IP stack of MC55i comes with a new service referred to as 'Transparent TCP Service'. It's size is just 35 x 32.5 x 2.95 mm, but packed with impressive features: Quad-Band GPRS Class 10, an integrated TCP/IP stack now with 'Transparent TCP Service', Digital Audio Interface (DAI), and a RIL driver for Microsoft®  Windows Mobile™ based devices.

The MC55i comes as an all-round module suitable for a host of fields: security, vending, metering, gateways, remote maintenance and control, routers and a great deal more. The Quad-Band technology allows the module to be used anywhere in the world.

The following new and improved features are contained in Rel.1.2 A2 in comparison to Rel.1.2:

• The new feature 'Transparent TCP Service' provides a specific mode for data exchange that eliminates the need for the AT^SISW and AT^SISR cycles used for all other embedded TCP/IP services - therefore a much more comfortable way to send TCP packages via MC55i.
• The DNS resolver has been improved and is more persistent now.
• Regarding AT^SISW: Internet Services are now robust against sending data before ^SISW: <srvProfileId>, 1 URC was issued.
