Bourns® announces new 0603 size family of resettable fuses

Bourns has announced the introduction of its new MF-FSMF Series of Multifuse® polymer PTC resettable fuses. This 0603 (1608 Metric) sized surface mount device is now Bourns’ smallest size resettable fuse and one of the smallest PTCs on the market.

With the continued drive towards miniaturization, Bourns has launched this product family to assist handheld electronics manufacturers to protect their circuits with the smallest possible resettable fuse.

The compact MF-FSMF series uses the new freeXpansion™ design that increases the performance of the resettable fuse with:

  • Higher hold currents (Ihold)
  • Higher voltages (Vmax)
  • Improved resistance stability
  • Smaller footprints

This new Multifuse® MF-FSMF Series is RoHS* compliant, halogen free** and UL certified for safety requirements. In addition to the small size, it is one of the fastest operating PTCs with operating currents up to 500 mA on the market today.
